4 Eateries On Lake Austin

4 Eateries on Lake Austin

Hula Hut

First off, the closest restaurant closest to Tom Miller Dam is Hula Hut. Hula Hut is been a long time staple of Austin. Established in the Summer of 1993 and still going strong.

You’ll definitely want to try Hula Hut if only for the curious spectacle of a Hawaiian Mexican restaurant (Tiki-Mex, they’ve coined it) on the banks of Lake Austin. The Polynesian-tweaked menu has a number of diverse flavors for just about every palate, from fried appetizers to burgers to enchiladas and tacos. The view from the outdoor patio is pretty spectacular, and it’s long been a favorite spot for Austinites to spend lazy weekends sipping margaritas and noshing on huge plates of nachos.

Mozart’s Coffee Shop (An Austin Original)

Mozart’s is proud to be an “Austin Original”. They opened our doors in 1993 with the dream of offering a place to enjoy quality coffee in a beautiful setting. Never could I have imagined that over 2 decades later, they still be realizing that dream. I have celebrated many firsts over the years at this coffee joint. From first dates to my first Christmas Light festivals and shows. They are the first coffee shop in Austin to roast in-house and first to add a bottomless cup.

Ski Shores

Needing a place to relax and grab a bite, Marion opened Ski Shores Cafe in 1954 and it has been operating ever since. It was first simply known as a “glorified hot dog stand” by the locals, Ski Shores grew into what many dubbed  as one of the few icons of Austin eatery establishments. Serving great food in a laid back atmosphere under the sun and beside the water and friendly geese, Ski Shores became a perfect recipe for the chill Austin culture and continues to do so today.
